Black Bear Bottling Group, LLC has chosen to take the lead regarding industry standards for their own benefit as well as that of their existing and future customers. As part of their 5 year growth plan and green initiative, Black Bear Bottling Group, LLC has successfully achieved the honor of SQF Level 2 Certification through an audit conducted during December of 2010.
SQF 2000 Level 2 is a globally recognized and accepted quality management system in food industry. In 2010, Black Bear Bottling went through a major overhaul of the Oak Creek location to achieve SQF certification to comply with the requests of some of our national customers.
We achieved certification with a 97% rating, which is the highest category of scoring.
By achieving this certification, Black Bear Bottling Group, LLC is able to provide a wide variety of packaging options to customers; including unique pack sizes for both plastic and glass bottles. Black Bear Bottling Group, LLC also has the capability of providing start up batches as customers want to test new flavors or brand new lines.
In the process of reach the goal of achieving SQF Level 2 Certification, Black Bear Bottling, LLC has totally gutted the entire Oak Creek, WI plant and followed certification guidelines to the letter. Changes range from heavy construction to changing paint.
Green changes have also been made. Tube lights were installed in the ceiling which allows zero or very little electricity to be used during the day. The sun provides most of the energy used. In addition, all cardboard waste is sent back to a recycling paper plant for re-use. All cardboard used for beverage carriers is made from 100% recycled paper and 35% is from post consumer waste.
Our certification assures verifiable assurance all products produced are in compliance with SQF standards, HACCP principles, and local requirements. We have the ultimate control of process from start to finish; from raw material sourcing to traceability of finished product in market place
